Monica Jones Obituary

Monica Marie Jones passed peacefully from this life the afternoon of November 26, 2021, after a gradual decline in health.  She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last moments of her life. Monica Marie Jones was born into this life on February 19, 1997, in Milwaukee County, Milwaukee Wisconsin to Willie Freeman Jones Jr., and Tina Marie Jones. She was preceded in death by an older sister Faith Angel Jackson; Both her maternal grandparents Benjamin Allen Jackson and Nancy Lynn Jones, and paternal grandparents Willie Freeman Jones Sr and Anna Belle Underwood-Jones. She leaves to mourn her untimely departure three children, Dominique Martinez, Daniya Denise, and Danyla Lynn Jones Smith, all of Milwaukee, WI. Nine brothers – Dakarai Ishmael Jones (Columbus, OH), Jawaan Raaqim Jones AKA (Man-Man), Willie Freeman Jones III, Javaan Haaqim Jones, Prince Raymond Underwood Jones, Raphael Ashanti Jones, Emory James Jones, Benjamin Allen Jones, Malachi Emmanuel Jones, and one sister Laniya Faith Ann Jones, all of Milwaukee, WI. Uncles and Aunts, Lorraine Jackson of South Bend, IN; Jimmy Jackson, and April Jones of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Bobby (Diana) Jones of Omaha, Nebraska, and Raphael (Valeria) Jones-Ashanti of Pensacola, FL; Devoted godparents, Alaa & Tiffany Qetairi of Milwaukee, WI; A very special close and best friend Chelsea Greer of Houston, Texas; and a host of cousins, other friends, and associates.

Monica attended the public schools of Milwaukee County and graduated from James Madison high school on Milwaukee’s North side. After high school, she entered human services work field as a customer service representative with the department of Welfare. Monica loved children and enjoyed working with and helping people, she also worked as a caretaker and had interest in owning and developing her own daycare business long before being diagnosed with heart failure. Monica also loved to cook, and she cherished being amongst family and looked froward to attending the annual Jones family reunions over in Michigan City, Indiana where her dad grew up. Monica gave her life to Christ at an early age and had a strong foundation in her faith. Her head was anointed with oil by her paternal grandmother Evangelist Anna B. Jones as a toddler, which was a custom for Mother Jones to provide a covering for all her offspring. Monica was a member of Fighting Temptations in Christ International Ministries under the anointed supervision of Pastors Larry and Shonta Murdock where her dad is an assistant pastor. We loved Monica Marie Jones for sure, but God loved her more.
